OnPath Energy raises over £8,000 for Scottish cancer charity

Published on 10 Feb 2026

A YEAR of energetic fundraising has seen the team at leading UK renewables firm OnPath Energy channel their efforts into raising funds to support locally-loved Beatson Cancer Charity.

Members of the Scottish OnPath Energy team were asked to nominate a charity close to their hearts before a company-wide vote decided where the funds would go.

A total of £8,112.63, which includes matched funding from OnPath Energy, has been donated to the Beatson charity.

OnPath colleagues have now voted to continue fundraising for the Beatson right through 2026.

The charity was nominated by Suzy Killin, head of land at OnPath Energy, recognising the care her father received during treatment for prostate cancer. Her choice received overwhelming support, with many colleagues citing personal connections to the cause.

“I nominated Beatson Cancer Charity because cancer has profoundly impacted many of us, including my own family,” said Suzy.

“My dad speaks highly of the exceptional care he received. The staff were amazing and they also really supported my mum during such a difficult time.

“Beatson holds a special place in my heart and in the hearts of many of my colleagues at OnPath Energy.

“Many of us have personal connections to the charity, making it incredibly meaningful to support an organisation that does such outstanding work.”

OnPath colleagues Michael Brady and Stephen Parker got the fundraising underway with a daring rope jump from The Kelpies in Falkirk, where the duo took on the 30-metre descent following a challenging climb through internal ladders and cable bridges.

Later in the year several members of the team, including Suzy, went on to complete the Glasgow and Edinburgh Kiltwalks, covering a combined 44 miles in support of Beatson’s work.

To supplement the physical feats, the team hosted a festive fair at their office in Bellshill, inviting Beatson to sell merchandise from its charity shop, alongside organising a successful raffle.

From fundraising efforts to volunteering activities, the support of OnPath Energy will make a huge difference in the lives of those we support.”

“The dedication shown by the team has been nothing short of inspiring and will directly impact the services we are able to offer cancer patients across Scotland. We believe that no-one should face cancer on their own, each pound raised helps us to deliver support services for those suffering from cancer and those closest to them in the most difficult of circumstances. Thank you to everyone at OnPath Energy.”

Founded in 2014, Beatson Cancer Charity supports people affected by cancer by improving care, funding research and offering specialist services such as its wellbeing centre.

In partnership with the NHS and communities across Scotland, the charity provides services such as complementary therapies, hairdressing, wig fitting, befriending services and podiatry treatment to those who have been diagnosed with cancer and are receiving treatment.

The organisation’s English team also raised a total of £4,313 for their chosen charity, the Sunderland Community Soup Kitchen who provide both practical assistance and healthy meals to anyone in need.

Nicky Gallagher, human resources director at OnPath Energy, said: “We’re incredibly proud of what our teams have achieved in 2025. As a business and as individuals, we feel strongly about making a difference in the communities we work in, and so we wanted to come together to raise money for local charities close to both our English and Scottish offices. We place a strong emphasis on supporting smaller, community-rooted causes.

“We’re looking forward to building on this momentum in 2026.”

With a strong focus on sustainability and social impact, the company continues to blend clean energy development with meaningful community engagement across the country.
