Learn all about our vision for Lethans Wind Farm and how it will benefit your local community.

A new wind farm near Cumnock, East Ayrshire, that will generate up to 132 MW of electricity – enough to power more than 50,000 homes each year.

Scotland has some of the best wind resources in Europe. At OnPath Energy, we are harnessing that energy to help the UK transition to 100% renewable electricity. We are currently developing plans for a new wind farm in South Ayrshire, Lethans Wind Farm.

About the project

OnPath Energy has been granted planning permission to develop a new wind farm near Cumnock in East Ayrshire, Scotland comprising 22 turbines and generating enough renewable electricity to power more than 50,000 homes in the local area. The site will generate more than £7 million in community funds during its lifespan and will create significant benefits for the local environment.

The project was initially granted planning permission by East Ayrshire Council in March 2018 and further permission was granted in June 2020 to maximise the efficiency of the proposal by increasing the height of the turbines and the length of rotor diameter, and refining the layout out the site.
