Generating renewable energy since 2013.

Armistead Wind Farm ownership news

In January 2026 OnPath Energy completed the sale of Armistead Wind Farm near Kendal to ERG , one of Europe’s leading independent renewable energy producers. For details on the deal you can read our news release here.

What this means for you?

OnPath Energy will continue to manage Armistead Wind Farm on behalf of ERG while the £13,000 annual community benefit fund will be maintained under their new ownership over the project’s lifetime.

This means that OnPath Energy will continue to operate Armistead Wind Farm in the same way it always has done, community funding will be managed in the same way using our long term partnership with Point North,  the application process for community grants remain the same and should you have any questions about the project as always you can contact Tom, your dedicated community manager (details can found below).

Community benefits

We establish community funds for every OnPath renewables project to ensure that the benefits are channelled back into the local community. The Armistead Wind Farm Community Fund receives £13,763.93 each year. The fund is managed by a Community Fund committee made up of members from the local parish councils as well as the district and county councillors.

The committee agrees how and where grants are awarded based on a range of criteria and the information we receive in the funding application.

Projects from six parishes close to Armistead Wind Farm are eligible for funding including Killington, Lupton, Mansergh, New Hutton, Old Hutton and Preston Patrick, with priority given to groups nearest to the site. Projects outside of these areas may be considered if the application shows that they benefit residents of the six parishes.

These community funds are managed by our trusted partner Point North who have managed our community funds from the beginning.
