Overview
Our legal team provides vital resource to our project developers, and to our commercial, corporate, operations and finance teams.
Key responsibilities
- Provide legal advice and support on a wide range of matters, including corporate governance, commercial, finance and corporate transactions, property and planning issues, regulatory compliance, employment law, and intellectual property.
- Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of contracts, including property agreements, project development agreements, M&A documentation, supply contracts, and service agreements.
- Conduct legal research and stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and industry trends affecting the UK renewable energy sector.
- Support the development and implementation of corporate policies and procedures to ensure legal and regulatory compliance.
- Manage and coordinate with external legal counsel.
- Assist in dispute resolution, including negotiation, mediation, arbitration, and litigation.
- Participate in corporate governance and company secretary activities, including preparing and reviewing board materials, minutes, and resolutions and working with our document management systems and Companies House.
Qualifications
- England and Wales or Scottish qualification.
- Minimum 1-2 years PQE minimum – preferably with energy experience or related industries.
- Strong knowledge of project development and regulatory advice in relation to energy projects.
- Excellent analytical, drafting, and negotiation skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across the organisation.
- Familiarity with the energy market in the UK
- Experience in financing structures and corporate transactions tax incentives for renewable energy projects.
