Planned road improvements
From Monday 9th March, roadworks will be taking place on the A71 (Stonehouse Road), approaching Strathaven, adjacent to St Patrick’s Church. Work is expected to take four to six weeks and will involve reprofiling the verge and widening the road to allow for the safe and efficient delivery of turbine blades.
During this time, traffic management will be in place with a single lane closure and traffic lights in operation. To ensure the smooth flow of traffic, traffic lights will be manned during peak times.
When the works are complete, the hillside will be fully restored with replacement tree planting.
