How the local community benefits from the Common Farm Solar Park<\/strong><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

When developing our project proposals, we aim to maximise the benefits for local residents. Common Farm Solar Park will create an annual community benefit fund of up to \u00a350,000 per year, and up to \u00a32 million throughout the project\u2019s lifetime.

Consultation work is continuing on how the annual package of benefits will best be used to support local community and environmental priorities. Just like our nearby Penny Hill Wind Farm Community Fund, we work with the local community to identify the priority projects and initiatives that we can support in the area. Please do get in touch using the form below and let us know how this fund could be used to support the communities around Dinnington.

Local groups in the area that have benefited from our existing projects include Treeton Community Centre, Swallownest Bowling Club and Ulley Sailing Club.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Building community value<\/strong><\/strong><\/h6>\n\n\n\n

A launch of a new community fund<\/strong> <\/strong><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Following completion of the project, up to \u00a350,000 of grant funding will be made available annually to support the initiatives that matter <\/strong>most to local people. A panel of community representatives will agree on funding applications and issue grants for projects nearby, ranging from enhancing community assets to delivering programs that local people can benefit from individually. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Further details on the fund will be communicated as the panel is established and the guidelines for applications are completed over the summer. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ongoing community liaison<\/strong> <\/strong><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

A liaison committee has been established to facilitate community communications during the construction phase. This committee will be made up of members of the community fund panel (local councillors and parish councillors). <\/p>\n\n\n\n
